I made a semi-spontaneous trip to Washington and took some pictures while I was there.
A few weeks ago I decided to make a slightly spontaneous trip over to Washington to hang out with a new friend. It was a really wonderful time while I was there. Between the excellent company and excellent scenery, I was pretty busy. It was a very successful first trip to the Pacific Northwest. I took quite a few pictures and just felt like sharing, so here we are.
The Point Defiance Zoo in Tacoma was one of the first places I went to. The zoo itself was pretty enjoyable, but my favorite part was the aquarium. I struggled to get a lot of good photos inside there (lighting is challenging), but I got a couple neat videos. The jellyfish area was dope. Bring some headphones with if you're going. It's good vibes.
The rest of the zoo was fun. The penguins were particularly adorable to watch swim around and groom themselves. It was tough to get a good shot of the tiger and polar bear, but what can you do? And yes, there was a crab rave. 🦀🦀🦀
We also spent some time at the Dungeness Spit, which was very cool. I certainly couldn't do it justice with my photography skills. The way the spit extended out into the water reminded me of a fantasy landscape of some sort. The very short hike up and down wasn't too tough either. It was definitely worth the drive.
I'm a little fuzzy on where exactly the rest of these pictures were taken because I didn't import the rest of them until after I got back to Minneapolis, but here's a few more of my favorites from the last few days of my stay.
