Just a few small galleries of my favorite photos of 2021 so far. January through February.
I've had several different posts in the drafts section for a while but haven't been able to be consistent enough to finish them. Hopefully someday soon. I have a lot to talk about, but it's been a challenge getting it out. Until then, here's a handful of photos from this year (I think, there may be a couple from last Fall that squeezed their way in.) that I wanted to share on here.
I've also posted some of my best to Unsplash, which has been another fun challenge I've started devoting a little bit of time to.
I've really expanded my arsenal of camera lenses since the beginning of this year. I started with the Panasonic 14-42 kit lens, then added the 45-150 which I wasn't very happy with. Then this January I picked up an Olympus 30mm macro, which was a game changer for me since most of my time is spent indoors. This gallery is all shot with my macro lens, except for the cactus. Product photography is interesting to me too.
Here's another couple macro shots that I felt turned out exceptionally well.
Another piece of kit I recently picked up was a Panasonic 25mm f/1.7 (50mm equivalent on a full frame) lens for my camera, and have been very impressed with how easy it is to take nice pictures with. I haven't had a ton of opportunity to use it but it's been very rewarding so far. I've also been using filters a bit more. It's probably about 50/50 right now in doing the edits by hand and just finding a nice preset to use.
I think this lens will go a very long way and can't wait to get some candid shots with this one. Putting a black and white filter over some of these photos feels like a cheat code to make them go from good to great.
And here's just a few more miscellaneous photos that I liked enough to share.
That's all for now, folks. Thanks for looking.
